Welcome to the memorial page for

Willis John Marshall

August 10, 1925 ~ June 22, 2016 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Willis "Bill" John Marshall was born in Lima Center, WI on August 10, 1925 to William and Harriet Marshall.  He entered heaven's gates Wednesday night, June 22, 2016 listening to songs like "Beulah Land" and "I'll Meet You in the Morning" while holding the hands of his loved ones.  How precious is the home going of a saint of God!

Married for 41 years, Bill was able to join his wife, Maxene, who preceded him in death almost 18 years ago. What a celebration must have begun as he drew his last breath on earth and then had it taken away again as he saw Maxene and clasped her hand in heaven!

Bill can enjoy heaven because of the best decision he ever made on earth.  He chose to follow Christ!  Bill got saved and was baptized at Oakhill Community Church (formerly Janesville Bible Baptist Temple) where he was a charter member and served faithfully.  He was a longtime (55 year) resident of Janesville, WI.

Bill is survived by one brother, Kenneth (Judy) Marshall of Kingman, AZ.  Two sons: Gary (Nita) Marshall of Las Cruces, NM and Mike (Darlene) Marshall of Goldsboro, NC. Five grandchildren: Jeremy Marshall of Colorado, Brandon Marshall of New Mexico, Laura (Darrell) Kornegay , Stephen Marshall, and Jennifer Marshall of North Carolina.  He was also blessed with three great grandchildren: Phoenix Kornegay, Elizabeth Kornegay, and Maxene Kornegay of North Carolina.

Funeral services to honor this special father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, WWII veteran and friend will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 7PM in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro, NC.  A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, July 1 at 10 AM at Eastern Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC.

The family wishes to thank the kind staff of Always Compassionate Family Care Home  for assisting us in taking care of Bill the last four years.  All of you are special to us and we love you like our own!  Special thanks is also extended to Community Home Care and Hospice.  No words can express what it meant to have you by our side in this journey.
