Donald Wayne Wicker, 61, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. 

A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 6 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Interment will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at noon at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.

Mr. Wicker was born in Harris County, Texas on January 9, 1956.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Yarbrough Wicker.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Annette Woodley Wicker; two daughters, Crystal Wicker and Tammy Person both of Goldsboro; brother, Pastor Jerry Wicker and wife, Petra of Prince George, VA; his father, Tracy Wicker of Goldsboro; father- in-law, Robert Woodley of Pikeville and two grandchildren, Kayla and Carter Person.

Mr. Wicker was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Rosewood Church of God, a youth camp volunteer, and an umpire for 30 years of softball and volleyball.  He was affiliated with the North Carolina School Athletic Association, Eastern North Carolina Athletic Officials Association, North Carolina USSSA Fast pitch, Wilson County Youth Athletic Association, NSA Fast pitch, and an usher for the University of North Carolina Basketball team. 

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
