Charles Franklin Kirk Jr. passed away at home on September 16, 2017.
The positive impact of his life is dearly felt and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Family includes his wife of 68 years, Elaine; sons, Kenny, Tommy and Martin; daughter-in-law, Ginger; grandchildren, Jason, Emily and Caitlyn; step-grandchildren, David, Becky and Danny; great grandchildren, Riley, Rachel and Aliyah; step-great grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, Andrew, Jakob, Nathan and Cole; nephews, Bobby and Don; brother, Tommy; sister-in-law, Ogie; and brother-in-law, Bob.
Frank, a life-long blood donor, was born in Salisbury, North Carolina to Charles Franklin Kirk Sr. and Beatrice Goggin Kirk on September 21, 1929. After high school and military service, he married his high school sweetheart, Elaine, on September 21, 1949. A Bell South Telephone Company manager for 36 years, Frank was recognized as one of the most well-liked and dedicated supervisors who was committed to doing his very best and treating everyone with respect, traits he instilled in his children. After retirement, he continued to pursue a life of helping others in his community and other countries. He was an active member and head deacon in his church. Frank was one of a kind...there will never be another!
Donations honoring Frank may be pledged to The American Red Cross or to the Goldsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 21 at 11 a.m. at the Goldsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1000 E. Mulberry Street in Goldsboro. There will be no graveside service.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
