Born on December 5th, 1943, Betty Lou Carlyle of Holly Ridge passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.

Betty Lou and her surviving husband, Ertle Carlyle, operated a service station in Folkstone, NC for over 25 years.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her hearty laugh will be missed by all.

She is predeceased by her mother, Mary Belle Williams and father, Franklin Wood. 

Surviving children are Douglas Carlyle of Holly Ridge and Loretta & husband, Jerry Burton of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Shelby Carlyle, Kelsey Burton and Lindsey Burton; and her siblings, Rosemary Carver of Louisville, KY and C.T. Wood of Jonesville, NC.

Family plans are private.

Memorials may be given in her honor to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC  27534.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
