This obituary is so touching and real, and has me in tears. It's been ten years since I'd seen him, but he's still Dad #2 to me. He had such a great sense of humor, and, after reading this, I can see how much Sarah took after him, which makes him even more special to me. Love you guys.

From the first time we met to our final farewell, there have been few been that have engaged me like Verne. From the first time I helped him crawl out of a car to seeing him drive off in his trucks, Verne never was a client, he was my buddy. Slightly odd, a lot older, coffee drinking, pipe smoking buddy. His love of knowledge and reading led to many discussions over the years as well as a few books. Verne was my historian, my book reviewer and my my friend. I will make some time to smoke a pipe and read a book you gave me soon. My deepest sympathies to your family. God's Grace to you.
