Pikeville- Mary Ethel Coker, 82, of Vail Road passed away, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Coker was born in Duplin County on August 25, 1934 to the late Needham Henry and Mary Elizabeth Gainus. 

She is survived by her husband, Henry Herman Coker; three daughters, Nancy C. Johnson of Goldsboro, Joyce F. Jernigan of Goldsboro and Diane Caulder, and husband, Adam of Pikeville; one sister, Janice Foy of Mt. Olive; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great- grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Needham “Jay Bird” Gainus and Morris Gainus and two sisters, Dorothy Gainus and Evelyn Davis.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Pikeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
