Harrison Thomas Edwards Sr., 78, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, with his family by his side at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date in Maryland.

Mr. Edwards was born in Maryland on June 19, 1937 to the late Robert H. Edwards and Hattie G. Garner Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Faye Weaver Edwards; one son, Harrison Thomas Edwards Jr. of South Carolina; one daughter, Carla Lorraine Edwards of Maryland and his twin brother, Harold Garner Edwards and wife, Louise of Maryland.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by three sisters.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
