Mount Olive- Danny Lee Carter, 67, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Carter was born in Lenoir County on August 11, 1948 to the late Raymond Carter and Irene Burroughs Brock. He attended Brogden Chapel Pentecostal FWB Church and 30 plus year veteran of the United States Army. He was known best for being an exceptional automotive mechanic. He was a hard worker who dedicated his life to his country and his family. 

He is survived by his step-father, Howard Glen Brock of Mount Olive; his wife, Kim Carter; two daughters, Geaneen Carter Spivey and husband, Preston of Goldsboro and Melissa Carter of Dudley; one sister, Beverly Garris and husband, Edsel of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by one son, Jack Shane Carter; one daughter, Tabatha Lee Carter; one brother, Ronnie Dean Carter and his best friend K-9 companion, "LB".

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
