Henry Hank Harris Jr.

Retired Master Sergeant Henry Hank Harris Jr., 71, of Goldsboro departed this walk of life Friday, June 19, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Funeral service will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Goldsboro with visitation from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be held in Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

Mr. Harris was born in Louisiana on October 01, 1948 to the late Henry and Rachael Young Harris.

He was retired from the United States Marine Corps having been awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Harris was a professional golf instructor having been a current member of the United States Golf Association. He was the former President of Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne and a Citizen Member of the North Carolina Sheriff's Association.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Hermanita V. Harris; one son, Alex Jordan Harris of Goldsboro; one daughter, Gena Marie Harris of Goldsboro; three brothers, Will Harris and wife, Joyce of Chicago, Leroy Harris and wife, Sharon of Chicago and Habel Harris and wife, Susanna of Chicago and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by one brother, Alex Harris and his sister, Victoria Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Luke United Methodist  Church, 1608 E. Pine St., Goldsboro, NC.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
