Anna (Bruno) Lane

Anna Lane of Pikeville passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro at the age of 81.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Pastor Dave Varnell officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Forehand Cemetery in Pikeville.

Mrs. Lane was born in Washington, D.C. on March 24, 1942 to the late Nicola and Rose Bruno.  She was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church in Fremont where she attended while her health permitted.  She was an avid bowler and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Bruno, Tony Bruno and Falco Bruno and three sisters, Beatrice Mariner, Elena Leighty and Angie Mariner. 

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 64 years, Jesse B. Lane Sr.; three sons, Jesse B. Lane Jr. of Florida, Nicolas Anthony Lane and wife, Debbie of Florida and John Henry Lane and wife, Bonnie of Charlotte; one daughter, Antionette Wiltshire and husband, Roy of Pikeville; two brothers, Falco John Bruno and wife, Kimberly of Virginia and Nicola Bruno and wife, Rose of Virginia; three sisters, Rosemary Bruno of Maryland, Regina Hawk of Maryland and Anita Roberts and husband, Mark of Maryland; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and her beloved chihuahua, Blazer.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
