Winston Churchill Smith

Winston Churchill Smith, 77, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday at noon at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with military honors.

Mr. Smith was born in Wayne County to the late Allen and Mamie Smith.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by a daughter, Wendy Smith (Michael) of Albertson; brother, Grover Smith; sister, Carolyn Smith;  five grandchildren,  Hailey Wells and Ashlyn Rhodes of  Albertson, Summer Smith of  Goldsboro and Cory and Cody Smith of Great  Falls,  SC; and his  beloved mule, Fancy and his companion dog, Red.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Smith; brothers, Malcolm Smith,  Billy Smith and James Smith and a sister, Doris Smith.
