William Carroll Hobbs, Sr.
June 17, 1953 - June 4, 2020
William Carroll Hobbs Sr. known to many as “Hopsine”, 66, Texarkana, Texas formerly of Goldsboro, N.C. transitioned to the eternal love of God on Thursday, June 4 at 10:32 a.m. with family by his side at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Born June 17, 1953 to the late James Carroll Hobbs Sr. and Annie Bell Hobbs of Goldsboro, N.C. William attended Wayne County Public School, graduating from Goldsboro High School in the Class of 1972. William married Ernice Buckram in 1983 and in this 37 year union two children were born. He was a devoted husband, loving father and friend to many.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ernice Buckram Hobbs of Texas; sons, William Carroll Hobbs Jr. (Ari) of Tokyo, Japan, Rory Andre Worrells (Glenda) of Goldsboro; one daughter, Celia Ann Hobbs (Jose) of Texas, and six grandchildren. Brothers, Larry D. Jones, James Carroll Hobbs Jr., and Jerry Hobbs, all of Goldsboro. Sisters, Leneniece Chambers (Delmas), Carolyn Kinsey (Kelly), Diane Hobbs Dixon, Sharon Matthews (Ronnie), of Goldsboro, and Lila Bell Parker of Pennsylvania. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends in Goldsboro and surrounding areas, and special extended family in Texas.
William will be laid to rest Friday, June 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, North Carolina 28333. Rev. Michael Johnson will officiate the homegoing service.
He fought a good fight and finished his course and earned his Heavenly wings.
Services are entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
