William Dixon Obituary

William Arthur Dixon, 83, formerly of Goldsboro, NC, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation in Smithfield, NC.

William was born in Wayne County on January 26, 1940 to the late Rematha Cobb Dixon and William Andrew Staton.

Mr. Dixon leaves to cherish his memories two brothers, James Dixon and Bobby Dixon; four sisters, Emma Herring, Marie Lewis, Helen Carraway and Mavis Fuller and a very special cousin, Pamela Golphin. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Roy Dixon Jr., Norman Dixon, Margaret Diggs and Denise Dixon.

William was a lover of people, especially family, and he cherished our Mother right up until the day of HIS passing. He was proudly “one of a kind”, and never wavered to please others. He will truly be missed!

A private Celebration of Life will be held for the Family.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
