Vonnie Hinnant (Jones) Bailey

Vonnie Jones Hinnant Bailey, 86, of Princeton passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Reverend Donald Daniels officiating.  Interment will follow at Hinnant Family Cemetery, Kenly.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vonnie was born in Wayne County on July 12, 1938 to the late Berry Major and Mattie Pearce Jones. She was past employed at Devil Dog Manufacturing and Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Dean Hinnant (Hayden) of Tampa, Florida; daughter-in-law, Belinda Hinnant of Kenly; sister-in-law, Sally Jones of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Suzanne Brooks (Paul), Kathryn Hinnant, Dr. Taylor Hinnant (Dr. Todd Mendenhall) and Sarah Hinnant; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Brooks and Lucas Brooks and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husbands, Otis King Hinnant and Paul Bailey Sr.; her son, Shelton “Sam” King Hinnant; her sisters, Rachel Allen, Allene Harris, Hilda Gurley, Otena Quinn, Myrtle Holland, Nellie Enciso, Linda Jones and Brenda Jones and two brothers, Elvin Jones and David Jones.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
