Sylvia "Mema" Ann (Howell) Holland Obituary

Sylvia Ann Holland, 77, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro surrounded by her loving family. 

 

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Cobb Family Cemetery in Jason. Visitation will follow the service at the cemetery.

 

"Mema" was born in Lenoir County on July 19, 1948 to the late David Ross and Mamie Jane Eubanks. 

 

Cherishing her memories are her three sons, Colonel "Bud" Gooding Jr. of Hookerton, Donnie Aldridge of Dudley and Joseph Aldridge of Dudley; her daughter, Diane M. Pizano and her husband, David Pizano Salinas of Pikeville; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dwayne Holland and Colonel "Buddy" Gooding Sr. and her grandson, Jimmy Mendez.

 

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
