Sylvia Jean Beard

Sylvia Jean Beard, 82, of Goldsboro passed away November 1, 2021 at her home.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends following the service. 

 Mrs. Beard was born in Franklin County on January 25, 1939 to the late Thomas and Ola Rudd Perdue. She attended Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Chapel.

She is survived by her son, Brian Beard (Belinda) of Goldsboro; one daughter, Janet Beard (Robert Barker) of Colorado; one sister, Charlotte De Mal (Richard) of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Heather Verhoeff and husband, Josh and Samantha Beard and husband, Randy Grossman and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Logan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Beard; one son, Michael Beard and one sister, Jeanette Poole.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
