Rudolph Brantley Walker Jr.

Rudolph Brantley Walker Jr., 79, of Pikeville passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service and other times at 4604 US Hwy 117 North in Pikeville.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Walker was born in Wayne County on February 12, 1944 to the late Rudolph and Josephine Jones Walker.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam.

He is survived by one son, Gregory Eugene Walker and wife, Dawn of Pikeville; one daughter, Lisa Walker Steward and husband, Daniel of Pikeville; three brothers, Eugene Walker and wife, Carolyn of Pine Level, Billy Walker and wife, Judy of Rosewood and Harold Walker and wife, Barbara of Pikeville; two sisters, Audrey Barnes and husband, Randolph of Kenly and Sandra Grady and husband, Gary of Pikeville; seven grandchildren, Danielle Smith (Brandon), Chris Steward (Britany), Kyle Walker (Lauren), Seth Walker (Morgan), Chase Walker (Kara), Abby Walker and Caroline Martin; five great-grandchildren, Dalton and Tristan Smith, Lyndley Walker, Bentley Steward and Hadleigh Walker and his special friend, Wanda Turner.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Jean Walker.
