Roger Warren Ackiss

Roger Warren Ackiss, 65, of the Grantham community passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 5 , 2022 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Ackiss was born August 15, 1956 and retired from the North Carolina D.O.C.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Stocks of Virginia; his wife, Sharon Jones Ackiss; two sons, Jason Ackiss and wife. Julie of Matthews, NC and Brandon Jones and wife, Michelle of Grantham; two daughters, Melanie Caroon and husband, Josh of Seven Springs and Danielle Rose of Greenville and fiancé, Scott; two sisters, Christine Watson and husband, Tim of Virginia and Teresa Mims and husband, Kevin of Virginia; six grandchildren, Jase, Noah, Layla, Bailey, Mikayla and Tyler and his beloved dog, Barkley.

Mr. Ackiss was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ackiss and step-mother, Jean Ackiss.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
