Robert Walter Watson Obituary

Robert Walter Watson, 75, of Goldsboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born February 4, 1950, to the late John Robert "JR" Watson and the late Edna Raynor Watson of Goldsboro. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Cathy.

Robert is a true testimony of God's love, miracles, and grace. He gave his life to Christ at the ripe age of 70 and became a proud and faithful member of Pikeville Pleasant Grove OFWB Church of Pikeville, NC.

Robert was a hard-working diesel tractor and small engine mechanic, having worked 30 years with John Deere, others, and maintaining his own side business for many years, as well. He was known far and wide for his mastery with a wrench and could fix most anything.

Robert was loved by many and will be greatly missed, not only by his family but his church family, and many friends. Robert is survived by a son, Robbie (Tracy) Watson of Pikeville, a daughter, Lisa (Cotton) Bell Fountain of Leland NC, and a daughter, Amber Watson of Pikeville NC, a brother, Steve Watson and a brother, George "Lil Bit" (Frankye) Watson. Robert also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Taylor) Grantham, Matthew (Susan) Watson, Brooke (Josh) Bell, Josh (McKenzie) Fountain, Damian & Evelynn Watson, Tommy (Megan) Thompson, Drake Thompson, and great grandchildren Peyton, Nora, & Lynley Grantham, Blythe Riggs, Hadley & Jade Graham, Beau Thompson, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Howell Funeral Home Goldsboro, NC on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. Services to honor and celebrate Robert's homegoing will be held at Howell Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.  A graveside service will immediately follow at Eureka Cemetery,  Eureka, NC.
