Retired Senior Master Sergeant Robert James Tooley Jr., 78, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro.
Due to COVID-19 and governmental restrictions, a private visitation for family and close friends will be held at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with military honors to follow. Burial will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date for everyone.
Mr. Tooley was born in New York on July 11, 1941 to the late Robert James Tooley, Sr. and Agatha Douglass Tooley. He retired from the United States Air Force after 28 years of service and was a member of the Mount Olive Masonic Lodge 208 and the Sudan Shriners.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Dagmar Tooley; two daughters, Elke Tooley of California and Sylvia Teasley of Montana; one sister, Cheryl Kolka of Oregon; three grandchildren, Kristina, Rachel and Kaitlin and one great-grandson, Benjamin.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
