Robert Franklin McLaurin, 83, of Goldsboro went to his heavenly home Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment with military honors will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McLaurin was born in Cumberland County on January 4, 1941 to the late Archie Franklin and Rena Faulkner McLaurin. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

Cherishing his memories are his wife, Mae Jolly Bennett McLaurin; one son, Kenneth Joel Bennett and wife, Christan of Charlotte; one daughter, Stephanie of Alabama; one brother, Archie Daniel “Dan” McLaurin and wife, Patricia Ann of East Over, NC; one sister, Betty Lois Adcox of Parkton, NC and his three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two sisters, Sadie Mae Williams and Mary Gernell Cannady.
