Pernelia Applewhite Reid

Pernelia Applewhite Reid, 79, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10 a.m. at in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends after the service.

Ms. Reid was born in Wayne County on December 7, 1943 to the late Albert Applewhite Sr. and Mary Barnes Applewhite.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Robert Applewhite of Kentucky, Wade Reid of Goldsboro, David Reid of Goldsboro, Elbert Reid of Newark, New Jersey and Mark Reid of Delaware; one sister, Carolyn Cooper of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; special nieces and nephews, Teresa "Tootsie" and Rhonda Best Uzzell and Albert Applewhite III and Roselle Applewhite; special friend, Joe Barrett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two children, Brenda Applewhite and Renay Reid; eight brothers, Louis, Glenn G. Handley, Johnnie Edward Applewhite of Newark, New Jersey; and two sisters, Mary Leftwridge of Goldsboro and Doris Smith of Newark, New Jersey.
