Pastor Jessie Mae Grimes, 71, of Mount Olive went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Homegoing service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Cathedral, 812 East James Street in Mount Olive. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held Monday, February 3, 2020 at noon at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Pastor Jessie Mae Grimes was born Alabama on March 8, 1948 to the late Will and Arcola Livingston.
She is survived by her loving husband, Apostle Preston Grimes; two sons, Preston Grimes Jr. and Elder Reginald D. Grimes both of Raleigh; daughter, Trinisha M. Grimes of Goldsboro; God-daughter, Cheryl Collins of Mount Olive; three brothers, Thomas Livingston, Julius Livingston and William Earl Walton; two sisters, Catherine Ealy and Betty Newton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
