Novella (Brock) Gay

Novella Brock Gay, 96, of Mount Olive passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at Genesis Health Care in Mount Olive.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Ms. Gay was born in Duplin County on December 17, 1924 to the late Leslie Brock and Marcelina Blackman Brock.  She attended Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Church in Dudley.  Ms. Gay was a certified Nursing Assistant with Woodard’s Care for over seven years.

She is survived by one brother, Wayne Brock and wife, Faye of Calypso; two sisters, Faye Carter of Mount Olive and Juanita Winstead of Elm City; one grandson, Michael Pope and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Gay was preceded in death by her first husband, Alton Pope; her second husband, Earl Gay; her son, James L. Pope and one brother, Roy Brock.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
