Nannie (Jones) Best

Mother Nannie Jones Best, 86, of Goldsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will follow the service.

She was born in Wayne County on May 9, 1935 to the late Frank and Carrie Parks Jones. She was a member of Holly Hill Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ in LaGrange where she was Mother of the church.

Mother Best is survived by her son, Monte A. Jones of Goldsboro; one daughter, Stephanie Edwards of Goldsboro; one sister, Shirley Daniels and husband, Archie of Goldsboro; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burden Best; one son, Ronnie Jones and his wife, Ellen; three brothers, John, H.B. and Nathaniel Jones; four sisters, Cora Wooten, Emma Simmons, Nora Bryant and Gladys Lewis and one grandson, DeCarlos Hamm.
