Mother Ethellen Lewis, 94, of Goldsboro went to her heavenly home Thursday evening, November 18, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Viewing will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Homegoing service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place after the service at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
Mother Lewis was born in Wayne County on June 18, 1927 to the late Fred and Mary Joyner Yelverton. She was a member of Pentecostal Holy Church in Goldsboro where she served as head usher, Mother of the church and a missionary. She was retired from Cherry Hospital. She will be deeply missed by all.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Winfield Lewis (Renee) of Maryland; two daughters, Linda Lewis (Delvia) of Washington D.C. and Helena Lewis Mott (Reverend Ray) of Goldsboro; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mother Lewis was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
