Morris Lemuel Hood Jr., 74, of Kenly passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Visitation will follow the service. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
Lemuel was born in Wayne County on June 7, 1947 to the late Morris Lemuel and Allene Heath Hood. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy B. Hood; one daughter, Joy Hood of Black Creek; one stepson, Jerry W. Scudder and wife, Kim of Missouri; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Corbett and husband, Tyron of Fremont; two brothers, Ronald Hood and wife, Donna of Grantham and Jerry Hood of Grantham; one sister, Judy Cuddington and husband, Steve of Kenly; one grandson, Jordan Allen; seven step-grandchildren, Trent and Taylor Allen, Cody and Ashley Scudder, Mariah Cassady, Brandie Cory and husband, Charles and Jenny Cassady Corbett and three step-great-grandchildren; a special beloved pet, Sweety and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Hollie Lynn Hood.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
