Meghan Lynnette Kornegay, 27 of Jacksonville passed away Friday, September 13, 2019.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs.
Meghan was born in Wayne County on December 07, 1991 to Gary Kornegay of Seven Springs and Heather Fitch of Pikeville. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Goldsboro. Meghan loved life, music and was an awesome EMT. She was always helping people, loved her family but her life was her kids, whom she loved more than anything. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Heather D. Fitch of Pikeville; her father, Gary Kornegay of Seven Springs; her step-father, William Fitch of Fremont; her boyfriend, Erick Elk of Jacksonville; the loves of her life, Jonah Willis, McKinley Willis, Addysun Beasley and Presleigh Beasley all of the home; brothers, Billy Fitch of Fremont and Brayden Stokes of Goldsboro; sister, Tori Fitch of Pikeville; nephew, Sebastian Parker of Pikeville; her paternal grandfather, Gary Thomas Kornegay and fiancée, Angela Blake of Jacksonville and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Meghan was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Michael John Sawkiw Sr. and JoAnn Sawkiw; her paternal grandmother, Mary Joyce Davenport Kornegay and her uncle, Jamie Sawkiw.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
