Marion Thomas Powell, 76, went to his heavenly home Sunday, November 10, 2024.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Powell Family Cemetery in Garland. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Marion was born in Bladen County on November 27, 1947 to the late Amos and Verna Melvin Powell. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he attended while his health permitted.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Thomasina Lee of Pikeville and her mother, Cynthia McCullen Powell of Goldsboro; his brothers, Calvin Powell, Carlos Powell and Michael Powell; his sister, Vernice Vance (LaFayette); his grandchildren, Thomasina Lee Pryor (Timothy) and Kimberly Lee and his great-grandchildren, Malayaa Coley, Jaila Pryor, Braylen Suggs and Jaida Pryor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Amos Powell Jr., Artis Powell and William Powell.
