Marie was born in Johnston County on March 2, 1929 to the late Emmitt and Sallie Holloman Martin. She was a faithful member of Antioch Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She loved working in her garden and spending time outdoors in her yard planting and looking after her beautiful flowers. She hugged everyone she knew and didn't know a stranger. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ most of all. Marie was a loving wife and mama to Donnie and Vickie. She was always so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie loved them with all her heart. She always prayed for her entire family "Be safe, well and happy. Let the Lord be your Shepherd and you won't have anything to worry you." One of her last sayings to Vickie was "the Lord will give you the strength to get thru."
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Vickie Peedin Lancaster and husband, Mike of Princeton who she loved like a son; one brother, Harold Martin and wife, Linda of Princeton; two sisters, Rosa Lee Holt of Princeton and Judy Rowe of Kenly; her daughter-in-law, Gwen Anderson and husband, Ronnie of Goldsboro; two sisters-in-law, Grace Martin of Princeton and Nellie Faye Martin of Princeton; three grandchildren, Pastor Michael Peedin and wife, Sherri, Michelle Peedin Adams and husband, Jeremy and Matthew Peedin and wife, Karen and ten great-grandchildren.
