Marian Eliza Price was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1939 to Frederick Douglas Murchison and Wilhelmina Taylor Murchison. She was educated in Cumberland County Schools. She continued her education at Wesley College where a Bachelor’s of Science in Education was conferred and at East Carolina University where a Master’s in Education was conferred. She used her advanced training to educate hundreds of students in the Wayne County School System for over 30 years at Carver Heights Elementary and Dillard Middle School. She is a retired educator and she authored several books and was considered a prolific writer. She was a long standing member of First Assembly of God, (Goldsboro First Assembly) now known as Generation Church for 20+ years. She currently is a member of No Limits Ministry.
Marian went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2019.
She was happily married to her best friend, Oscar L. Price, for 54 years. She became widowed on November 14, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Lydia Price Gregg and husband Alvin Gregg of DeLand, FL, a son, Zachary Price of Goldsboro, NC and a daughter, Sena Thompson of Goldsboro, NC. She loved and cherished three sisters and three brothers: Susan Stewart (deceased), John Douglas Murchison (deceased) Mildred Bostic of Manassas,VA, Blanche Smith of Fayetteville, NC, Fred Murchison, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC and Charles Murchison of Corona, NY and five grandchildren: Alexander Gregg, Anastasia Gregg, Elliott Gregg, Maxwell Gregg and Devante Price and one great-grandson, Troy Micah Hensley.
There are a host of nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Vernell Murchison of Fayetteville, NC, and Hazel Murchison (deceased) and brother-in-law, Rufus Bostic, II of Manassas, VA and William Stewart (deceased).
Homegoing service will be held at Howell Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. with entombment to follow at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9 until 9:45 a.m.
