Margaret Mary (McCollum) Cary

Margaret Mary Cary, 78, of Goldsboro passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at her daughter’s home.

A Christian Mass will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Cary was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 29, 1945 to the late Charles and Frances Moore McCollum.  She was a member of St. Mary Church in Goldsboro.  Mrs. Cary was a retired nurse and later volunteered at Wayne Memorial Hospital for over 10 years.  She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her three loving daughters, Peggie Ivers and husband, Adam of Goldsboro, Donna Cary of Goldsboro and Trish Moore and husband, Hakeem of Garner; six grandchildren, Justin Ivers (Macy), Marissa Kelly (Ryan), Alex Tulensa (Iris), Evan Tulensa (Chelsea), Jordan Moore and Emily Moore; seven great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Beau, Brooks, Connor, Maren, Eden and Lyla and her beloved dog, Lillie Mae.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cary was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Cary and her sister, Frances Lawton.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
