Maggie Eva McCoy, 85, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Due to governmental restrictions in reference to COVID-19, a private visitation and graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020 for family and close friends.
Miss McCoy was born in Robeson County on September 15, 1934 to the late Thomas McCoy and Annie M. McNeil.
She is survived by ten daughters, Carolyn Simmons and husband, Ronald of Maryland, Vivian Sadler and husband, Paul of Goldsboro; Mary Darden, Rosa Crider and Yvonne Jones of Maryland; Nancy Fennel, Pauline Rawlings and Alice Hill of DC; Shirley Greene of North Carolina and Annie Dean Thompson of Virginia; four sons, Daniel Rawlings and Arthur O'berry of Maryland, Arthur Rawlings of North Carolina and James Rawlings of DC; one brother, Thomas McCoy Jr. of Maryland; 46 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Miss McCoy was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Monroe Jr.; her daughter, Brenda Raynor and three sisters, Dorothy Turner, Margaret McCrae and Christine McCoy.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
