Mae Jolly (Bennett) McLaurin

Mae Jolly Bennett McLaurin, 78, of Huntersville, formerly of Goldsboro passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Cadence Huntersville in Huntersville, NC.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Interment will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McLaurin was born in Alexander County on February 10, 1947 to the late John Jolly and Luna Laws Jolly.  She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Goldsboro where she attended faithfully while living in Goldsboro.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Joel Bennett and wife, Christian of Charlotte; one grandchild, Kellan Joel Bennett and one sister, Sheila Kerley of Belmont.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McLaurin was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin McLaurin; her two sons, Mark and Lynn Bennett and her siblings.
