Kirby "Bo Pete" Whitfield Jr., 79, of Goldsboro departed his earthly journey Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will greet friends following the service.

He was born in Wayne County on January 3, 1942 to the late Kirby and Viola Lewis Whitfield.

Bo Pete is survived by two sisters, Macie Campbell and Occie Ward of Goldsboro and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
