Pikeville- Kenneth Rabon Deans, 81, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Wayne UNC Health Care.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road in Goldsboro.
Mr. Deans was born in Johnston County on November 17, 1936 to the late Delma and Elvorena Hatcher Deans. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Kenneth served diligently and faithfully on the Board of Directors of First Carolina People's Credit Union (Formerly known as Goldsboro Postal Credit Union) for over 35 years.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sherrie Deans of Raleigh and Kim Deans of Lumberton; three brothers, Sydney Deans of Virginia, Jerry Deans of New Bern and Randy Deans of Pikeville; one sister, Shelby Ward and husband, Bob of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Jason Kearney (Michelle) and Krista Kearney (Cris) ; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Kearney, Sarah Kearney, Emma LeDuc and Olivia Florwick and a beloved friend, Diane Stewart.
