Katrina Ann Ashford

Katrina Ann Ashford's earthly house was dissolved on Thursday, June 23, 2022, when her soul departed to its new home in Heaven. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday at Noon in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Interment will follow at Golden Gate Cemetery in Pikeville.  A viewing will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Katrina was born in Wayne County to Theodore Robinson and Jean Ashford Robinson on June 10, 1972. Her husband/soulmate is Rudolph Leake Jr. of the home.

Katrina was raised in Wayne County. She attended Wayne County Public Schools. She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in the class of 1991 and thereafter to pursue her certificate in Basic Law Enforcement Training in 1999. In 2005 she received her Associate’s Degree. In 2007 Katrina obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, but she didn’t stop there. In 2010, she received her Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Katrina worked as a security officer at the Mall in 1993. She was employed at Wayne County Sheriff’s Department as a Detention Officer from 1996 to 1999. After pursuing her certificate, she became employed at Goldsboro Police Department in 1999. She worked there for 6 years. She was currently employed at Wayne County Public Schools as an Instructional Assistant in the EC Department. Katrina had a very vibrant personality. As a child and as an adult she loved to sing. She loved reggae music, especially Bob Marley and some of her other favorite artists were LL Cool J, Prince, McLite, Salt N Pepa, and Spinderella as well as Queen Latifah. She loved thriller movies. She was a very classy lady and loved dressing to impress. She is known for wearing her lashes and her brooch pin on the back of her shoulder blades. She loved her family including her children and always made sure they had everything they needed. 

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Rudolph Leake Jr. of the home; her children, Qwandesheya Ashford (Corey) of LaGrange, Jamel McNeal of Wilson, Arnez Toussiant McDade of the home and Ethan McNeal of Raleigh; her parents, Theodore and Jean Ashford Robinson of Dudley; her grandson, Julian Chadwick; four sisters, Yolander Exum (Jimmy) of Goldsboro, Theolashonda Newsome of Rocky Mount, Nekemia Thigpen (James) of Mount Olive and Hettie Robinson (Sam) of Oklahoma; two brothers, Theodore Robinson Jr. (Elaine) of Goldsboro and Ralphfred Robinsonn (Ashley) of Dudley; her brother-in-law, Marcel Leake (Autumn) of California; her father-in-law, Rudolph Leake Sr. of Goldsboro; thirteen nephews, Javon Newsome, James Thigpen II, Tobias Newsome, Charles Truzy, Theodore Robinson Jr. III, Lenzell Robinson, Camron Robinson, Stephon Robinson, Tyshown Robinson, Emmanuel Robinson, Tigaye Robinson, Keyonte Harvey and Tavion Harvey; six nieces, Kenyetta Sealey, TyTicheyonna Thigpen, Theodora Robinson, MacKenzie Robinson, Ashlyn Robinson and Alison Robinson; two great-nieces, Keyanna Alford and Ashanti Alford; one great-nephew, Anthony Alford; six uncles, Napoleon Ashford, Alfred Ashford (Doris), Rocky Ashford, Nathenial Robinson (Kathy), Samuel Robinson (Brenda) and Ralph Robinson Jr.; seven aunts, Pearline Banks (Linton), Mable Johnson (William), Pauline A. Wilkerson, Jacqueline Robinson, Rosemary Robinson, Diane Robinson (Ernest) and Hilda Green (Larry) ; one great-aunt, Olivia Bell; two special cousins, Sharon Ashford and Thomas Ashford; a special friend, Charmaine Lassiter and a host of other family members and friends. 

Preceding Katrina in death is her maternal grandmother, Mabel Faison Ashford;  her maternal grandfather, Alfred Ashford; her paternal grandmother, Hettie Miles Robinson; her paternal grandfather, Ralph Robinson; her sister, Betty Sue Sealey and a special friend, Sandra Ashford.
