Joyce Lee (Cooke) Starling

Joyce Lee Cooke Starling, 90, of Goldsboro passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Holland Cemetery in Pinkney.  The family will receive friends following the graveside.

Mrs. Starling was born in Wayne County on November 23, 1929 to the late Frederick and Lou Wilda Cooke.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro.

She is survived by her husband, O.L. Starling; four daughters, Wanda Starling of Goldsboro; Phyllis Starling Patterson and husband, Gary of Goldsboro, Vanessa Starling of Pompano Beach, Florida and Tammy Starling Wingate and husband, Allen of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, James Cooke of Goldsboro; a sister, Brenda Johnstone and husband, Donald of Goldsboro; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Starling was preceded in death by one brother, Auburn Cooke and one sister, Carolyn Peacock.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
