Joseph Banks was born to the late Clinton H. Banks and Luna Lewis Banks on May 01, 1960 in Wayne County. He departed this life on September 28, 2018 at his home.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 06, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
He was educated in the Wayne County School System.
Joseph received an honorable discharge from the North Carolina National Guard. He was self-employed as a tree surgeon. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Lucama. He had a very giving spirit and was helpful.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Williams Banks and three brothers, James, Robert and David Banks.
He leaves to cherish a loving step-son, Montreal Williams of Goldsboro; foster daughter, Myisha Wynn of Goldsboro; five sisters, Cora Banks and Virginia Gash of Brooklyn, New York, Palena Banks of Austin, Texas, Linda Artis (Bobby) of Fremont, Luna Wooten (Daniel) of Goldsboro; three brothers, Clinton Banks Jr. of Goldsboro, Linton Banks of Kenly, Kenneth Banks (Linda) of Queens, New York; four sisters-in-law, Tammy Cox of Greensboro, Paulette Sims of Dudley, NC, Kaye Fryar of Kenly and Diane Jones of Wilson County and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Williams of Goldsboro.
He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, foster children, cousins, other relatives and friends and also a very dear friend, Fitzgerald Brunson.
