Obituary
JoAnn Moore Davy, 86, departed this walk of life Saturday morning, April 9, 2022 at her home in Newport with her son by her side.
A Celebration of JoAnn's life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Boardwalk RV Park, 101 Islander Drive in Emerald Isle. The family will receive friends afterwards.
JoAnn was born in Wayne County on October 7, 1935 to the late Edward Matthew and Sally Watson Moore. She was retired from Barry's Manufactory of Goldsboro. JoAnn made her home at Boardwalk RV Park where she served as Security for the eastside of the park. Whether you saw JoAnn guarding the gate from her deck or patrolling the streets on her golf cart, you knew the job was getting done. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by one son, Jay Hayes of Newport; one grandson, Dale Hayes and all her Boardwalk RV Park family and other friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" William Davy and her son, Larry Hayes.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
