A graveside service will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends following the graveside.
Jo-Ann was born on February 5, 1937 in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York City. After graduating from Washington Irving High School in 1954, she married her high school sweetheart - Kenneth McRae and thus began her 21 years as an Air Force Spouse. Seymour Johnson A.F.B. was the final Air Force assignment and Goldsboro became our Home. However, living in England for 6 years was her favorite military assignment where our family formed life lasting friendships with several “local” families.
Jo-Ann was always willing to help others and volunteered at Wayne Memorial, Kitty Askins, and Community Developmental School. However, her faith has been her constant companion and her guide her entire life. So much so that she became a lifelong Anglican Nun with the Order of St. Andrew on May 5, 2007. Her ministry was working with people transitioning at the end of their life and their family members.
Professional services entrusted and in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
