Jimmy Preston Stafford, 76, of Pikeville passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Inpatient Hospice at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 19, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  A graveside service will be Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton with military honors.

Mr. Stafford was born in Wayne County on April 1, 1947 to the late Alton and Myrtie McLamb Stafford.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Crescent Stafford (Billy) of Greenville; two sisters, Brenda Newsome of Goldsboro and Peggy Bridgers and husband, Ray, of Rosewood; three grandchildren, Destiney Violette (Diego), Christopher Hulon (Hanna) and Dylan Eakes and one great-grandchild, Skylar Hulon.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his two brothers, Billy Stafford and Willie Stafford and his beloved dog, Harmony.
