Jerry Ray West

Jerry Ray West, 70, of Goldsboro went to his heavenly home Friday, October 20, 2023 at his sister's home surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Mr. West was born in Wayne County on November 26, 1952 to the late Nubert and Margie Glenn Bass West. He was a faithful member for over forty years at Calvary Baptist Church where he served as church pianist and recently worshipped at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Goldsboro. He retired from the maintenance department at Wayne Community College.

He is survived by his two brothers, George "Randy" West of Goldsboro and Larry Glenn West and wife, Rosa of Goldsboro; one sister, Linda Byerly and husband, Dwight of Goldsboro; one niece, Heather Marie Johnson of Goldsboro; one nephew, Kevin Ray Byerly of Charlotte and several great nephews.
