Obituary
Bethany Jane “Jan” Lewis, of Goldsboro completed her journey home Thursday evening, August 31, 2023 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. She received her ultimate healing, as even last Sunday in her sickness, was able to attend church to hear her favorite song, “Way Maker.” Jan loved to worship the Lord and will be missed by her church family.
Jan was born in Wayne County on November 25, 1948 to the late Aubrey and Helen Keel Best. She retired from Cherry Hospital and was a faithful member of United in Christ Church in Goldsboro.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Gary J. Lewis; one daughter, Brandi Byers and husband, Bobby of Clayton; one sister, Judy Jones of Clinton; two grandchildren, Reese and Kyleigh and other relatives and close friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 6 p.m. at United in Christ Church in Goldsboro with visitation afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United in Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
