Helen Elaine (Mahnke) Brubaker

Helen Elaine Brubaker, 84, formerly of Goldsboro passed away Sunday morning, January 24, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The family will greet friends Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Those attending are ask to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

She was born in South Dakota on August 23, 1936 to the late Howard and Marcella McDonald Mahnke. She was raised on a dairy farm near Custer, SD. She was first married to Joseph Everette, who passed away in 1970 and then to William Brubaker, who passed away in 2006.  Both men were career Air Force servicemen.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Joseph Everette of Kenansville, NC and Randy Lee Everette and wife, Valinya of Virginia Beach, VA ; one step-daughter, Beth Brubaker Cope of Texas; two sisters, Janice DeKrueger of Loma, CO and Phyllis Johnson of  Lewiston, MT; two grandchildren, Benjamin Everette and wife, Tiffany and Alicia Lunsford and husband, Demetrius and three great-grandchildren, Alexxis, Lacey and Dakota.

She was preceded in death be her daughter-in-law, Maureen Everette.
