Harry D. Clark, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a man of unwavering love, passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 74. Born on December 16, 1949, Harry's life was a testament to dedication, service, and profound affection for his family.


A union blessed by love, Harry married La'Verne Simmons on March 15, 1987, embarking on a journey of companionship that remained steadfast until her passing. His devotion to La'Verne was a beacon of enduring love, a testament to the depth of his character.


A patriot at heart, Harry served his country with distinction, exhibiting unwavering pride as a member of the US Army during two tours in the Vietnam War. His commitment to service extended as he became a part of the revered US Naval Construction Battalion, earning the distinguished title of a Seabee.


Harry's dedication knew no bounds. A hardworking man, he provided for his family not only financially but also emotionally and mentally, ensuring their security and happiness. His love for his wife was a cornerstone of his life, a testament to the enduring strength of their bond.


In his passing, Harry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his 2 brothers, 2 children, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry within them the imprint of his love and values. Additionally, a host of nieces and nephews will forever cherish the beautiful memories of their uncle.


The family will honor Harry's memory with a graveside military salute on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC. This tribute stands as a testament to his invaluable service to his country and his unwavering dedication to his family.


Harry D. Clark will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering love, and his commitment to those he held dear. He will forever remain a cherished presence in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cancer Center of America, in honor of Harry's spirit of generosity and love for his community.
