Foy Mae Fail

Foy Mae Fail, 84, of Goldsboro went to her heavenly home Sunday evening, April 21, 2024 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Reverend Kelley Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow at Hastings Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

She was born in Wake County on July 28, 1939 to the late James Edward and Irene Edwards Whitaker. She was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church where she was a choir member, past Sunday School teacher and former treasurer and secretary for the church.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Cherishing her memories are her loving husband of 65 years, Needham Earl Fail; three sons, Dennis Earl Fail and wife, Julie of Goldsboro, Keith Fail of Pikeville and Rex Fail and wife, Angie of Goldsboro; one daughter, Shari Langley and husband, Sammy of Goldsboro; two brothers, Charles Whitaker and wife, Brenda of Richlands, NC and Clyde Whitaker and wife, Glenda of Pine Level; two sisters, Jean Woodard of Goldsboro and Goldie Moore and husband, Ronnie of Angier; sister-in-law, Lillian Whitaker of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Eric Langley (Tanya), Jenna Stokes (Jess), Joshua Fail (Lauren), Jessica Fail, Megan Fail, Brooke Allen (Logan) and Anna Fail and eight great-grandchildren, Zoey, Mason, Hunter, Hannah, S.J., Arah, Addison and Mason. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Whitaker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Antioch Presbyterian Church, 2306 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
