Faye W. Overton, 78, of Dudley went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, September 28, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.

 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with Reverend Wayne Goff and Pastor Joshua Overton officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.

 

Mrs. Overton was born in Sampson County on November 20, 1945 to the late Joseph Herman and Mary Peterson Weeks. She was a member of Brogden Chapel PFWB Church in Dudley.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Jimmy Wayne Overton Jr. of Mt. Olive, Terry Dana Overton (Sandra) of Pikeville, Caleb "C.C." Overton  (Phoebe) of Dudley and Dale Earnhardt Overton (Rachel) of Clinton; her daughter, Kelly Michelle Taylor (Jesse) of Dudley: her brothers, Henry Weeks, Nelson Weeks, Linwood Earl Weeks and Dennis Weeks; her sisters, Dorothy Weaver, Helen Mitchell, JoAnne Ramsey and Kay Johnson; seventeen grandchildren; Kristen Newman (Jason), Jimmy Wayne Overton 3rd "Trey" (Jamie), Brandon Lane (Tonya), Joshua Hatmaker, Tiffany Holloway, Joseph Overton, Willie Overton, Derek Bradley (Emily), Brookie Stancil (Robert), Morgan Stancil (Nicole), Amanda Lee (Charlie), Joshua Overton (Brooke), Noah Overton, Chandler Overton (Olivia), Dawson Overton (Jenny), Iala Overton; eighteen great-grandchildren and two on the way.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Overton Sr.; brothers, Ray Weeks and Gene Weeks and her sisters, Annette Weeks and Pam Weatherspoon.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, October 2, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence in Dudley.
