Evelyn Horne Howell Thompson, 76 of Goldsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, June 18, 2023 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Wayne County on December 15, 1946 to the late George Dewitt and Thelma Horne Howell and lived in the Patetown community. She attended Anchored In Christ Church in Pinkney. Mrs. Thompson loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Louis Thompson; her daughters, Wendy Thompson Fowler and husband, Chris of Tabor City and Amy Thompson Faulkner and husband, Chris of Raleigh; two brothers, Kenneth Howell and wife, Connie of Patetown and Billy Howell and wife, Judy of Patetown; one sister, Faye Person of Patetown and four grandchildren, Delayne Fowler Wilson and husband, Garrett, Haley Fowler, Bryson Faulkner and Gracie Faulkner.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her brothers, Shorty Howell, Gene Howell and Garland Howell and sisters, Peggy Howell and Claudette Hodge.
Homegoing service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 1:45 p.m.
