Eva Ann (Gurley) Rankin

Kinston- Eva Ann Gurley Rankin, 86, went to her heavenly home Friday, February 17, 2023 at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation in Snow Hill.

 
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Peele Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Rankin was born in Wayne County on November 3, 1936 to the late Omego and Margaret Peele Gurley.  She was a member of ParkEast Church of God.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Lupton; her stepchildren, Rebecca Wyatt, David Rankin, Dale Rankin and wife, Kim, Kenny Rankin and wife, Mary Ann, Jeanette Parsley, Dianne Kinder and husband, Jimmy and Barbara Aniba and husband, Harry; 16 step-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends and her church family. 

A special thanks to Greendale Forest Staff of Snow Hill and Community Home Health in Kinston for taking care of Mrs. Rankin and her late husband, Robert that passed away last year. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joe Rankin.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
